Job Summary
The Applications Analyst III is a senior-level position responsible for the configuration, support, optimization, and advancement of enterprise applications used across Augusta Health. This role functions as a subject matter expert and serves as a liaison between operational departments and the IT team to ensure the effective use and continuous improvement of assigned systems. The analyst plays a leadership role in projects, including upgrades, new system implementations, and ongoing
optimization efforts.
This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and an ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments. The Applications Analyst III will lead the implementation of new features, troubleshoot complex issues, and support clinical and business teams in leveraging technology to meet operational goals.
This role will focus on being an Application Analyst for Human Resources.
This position plays a critical role in supporting Augusta Health’s mission and advancing departmental goals through measurable performance indicators and service excellence. This position contributes to a collaborative, patient-centered environment and helps drive outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.
Essential Job Duties:
- Serve as the primary application expert for assigned systems, managing configuration, upgrades, issue resolution, and change requests.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams to implement, upgrade, or optimize applications.
- Conduct workflow assessments, define system requirements, and recommend enhancements to align technology with operational needs.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configuration, workflows, and support procedures.
- Provide advanced support to resolve incidents and service requests, including root cause analysis and trending.
- Collaborate with vendors, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and user-friendly application functionality.
- Coordinate testing efforts, including test script creation, validation, and end-user support for system changes.
- Deliver training and mentorship to other analysts and end-users as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, IT policies, and change management processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned, aligned with Augusta Health’s mission and values.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure/Certification: ITIL Foundation Certification within 6 months of hire; Application-specific certification(s) designated by the manager within 1 year of hire.
- Experience: Five or more years of experience supporting, configuring, and optimizing enterprise applications in healthcare or business
- Driver’s License: N/A.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia state employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, IT, or clinical practice.
- Licensure/Certification: Epic, MEDITECH, or other vendor certifications related to assigned applications.
- Experience: Eight or more years of experience; experience leading projects or mentoring staff.
- Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare system, or related service-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus.
